The current economic crisis has forced The International Migrant's Fund (FIDMi) to cut back on programming and staff. We urge you to take immediate action to help us provide essential services to the community. Every dollar you donate gets us closer to raising $25,000. Your gift helps transform the lives of immigrants throughout Washington, D.C.! Since 2002, the International Migrants' Development Fund has been supporting immigrants in Washington, D.C. by providing them with the financial skills and training necessary to access the formal financial system and succeed in the United States. Pati, an entrepreneur at the Mi Tierra open market run by The International Migrants' Development Fund, came to the United States to support her three children in Mexico. "Back there, just surviving day to day is a struggle," says Pati. At first Pati sold her tamales on the street and hid from police. Since joining the city-run market, Pati is now a licensed street vendor with a growing business. Your contribution helps break the cycle of poverty and build a stronger community throughout the D.C. Metropolitan area by helping immigrants and their families learn how to build wealth, invest savings and start businesses. The International Migrants' Development Fund's financial literacy, small business development and Latinas en Poder! programs help members of the community learn how to ensure their own financial success. "Remember, remember always, that all of us, and you and I especially, are descended from immigrations and revolutionsists."
Franklin D. Roosevelt
