Community Development Fund

foundCommunity Development Fund a reinvestment fund that will capture a portion of Mi Tierra to support community development projects in immigrant communities and in their home communities.

The Community Development Fund will support the following lines of action:

• Micro-enterprise and small business ventures as well as business education and training activities;

• Educational initiatives that will generate employment opportunities and, spur community business initiatives;

• Health initiatives particularly those promoting holistic approaches, and;

• Strategic partnerships and alliances between the third sector, the public and private sectors that will promote immigrant rights and civic participation.

To guarantee transparency and community participation, FIDMi is establishing an Advisory Board. The main objective of the Advisory Board is to design the parameters and the criteria of the projects that will be funded by the CDF.

This Advisory Board will be composed of members of, civil society in each
community, country or region. Advisory Board members might be: technical experts, community leaders, local government officials, faith-based leaders, foundation representatives and/or, others.
